Description:Often referred to as ‘gas station weed,’ products like Delta-8 are marketed as natural remedies, but they pose serious health risks. Typically found in colorful packaging near checkout counters, these products are marketed as supplements, mood enhancers, or energy boosters. However, some can have effects similar to opioids, raising concerns about impaired breathing, cognitive dysfunction, or sedation that could lead to accidents. In this course, physicians will learn about over-the-counter products like Delta-8, their potential dangers, and the unpredictable effects they can cause.
CME Objectives:After completing this activity, learners will be able to:- Identify common drugs sold at convenience stores/gas stations and recognize typical clinical presentations of intoxication or withdrawal from these substances.
