Description:
The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) was created to protect public health by detecting the diversion, abuse, and misuse of controlled substances under the Alabama Uniform Controlled Substances Act. Those who dispense Class II, III, IV, or V controlled substances are required to report their daily dispenses to the database. This course will outline the key features of the PDMP and demonstrate how it can be utilized as a valuable clinical tool.

CME Objectives:
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

• Explain accessing the PDMP and how it can be used as a clinical tool
